River corridors possess exceptional heritage value, owing to both their environmental and productive aspects and the significant social activity that takes place within them. The Tordera River and the Arb\u00facies Stream are prime examples of waterways that play a crucial role in the landscape and human settlement patterns of the surrounding area; among the many functions they can serve is the promotion of tourism\u2014specifically, active tourism.<\/p>

The “Tordera River and Arb\u00facies Stream Route” project stems from the promoters’ shared public commitment to revitalizing the natural, cultural, and intangible assets linked to the Tordera River and its basin. The initiative aims to link hiking and cycle tourism to these significant waterways\u2014much like the famous Danube and Rh\u00f4ne routes, or, on a smaller and more local scale, the Muga Natural Trail in the Alt Empord\u00e0 region.<\/p>

The Tordera basin is ideally situated for a project of this nature, boasting exceptional transport links, proximity to the Costa Brava and Montseny Natural Park, established tourism infrastructure, diverse coastal and mountain landscapes, and rich cultural heritage. Adapting this route for hiking and cycle tourism aims to attract visitors with a keen interest in the region and its heritage, thereby diversifying the current tourism offering and helping to reduce seasonality; it serves to integrate the territory while simultaneously becoming a hub of activity for service providers, local businesses, and facilities in the participating municipalities.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The Tordera and Arb\u00facies Stream Route project is made possible thanks to the 18 collaborating municipalities, coordination by the La Selva County Council, and funding from the Girona and Barcelona Provincial Councils for the work carried out.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
