Over the last few months, we have carried out a complete review of the entire route to check its condition, signage, etc. As always, after the review, we issue a detailed report to each of the 18 participating municipalities with everything we have detected so that solutions can be implemented.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Within the framework of the Tourdera project, we review the route twice a year in full, to know its current state and to guarantee our users that they can follow it without any issues. It is worth mentioning that with the Wikiloc application, you can always follow the route without problems using outdoor navigation<\/a>, which allows you to follow the route layout on your screen in real-time via GPS.<\/p>\n

During our recent review, carried out over the summer months, we detected a total of 171 incidents spread across the 18 municipalities participating in the route. A detailed report has been prepared for each town hall, which includes a file for each incident, and we send it to the entity in charge of maintenance in the municipality in question.<\/p>\n

We have explained to you before that the maintenance of the Tourdera is carried out in three ways: in some cases, it is the town hall itself that carries out improvement actions through its municipal brigade, in other cases, it is the maintenance team of the Montseny Natural Park, and finally, some municipalities have delegated maintenance, either to the itinerary maintenance service of the La Selva County Council or, others, through the Fundaci\u00f3 Acci\u00f3 Baix Montseny.<\/p>\n

The maintenance of any hiking or cycling itinerary is a very important aspect when offering a quality product to users, in our case of the Tourdera; that is why we perform these two complete reviews every year and ensure that those responsible for maintenance in each municipality provide a solution. Also, remember that as users, you can send us any incidents you detect through the web form available to you (www.tourdera.cat\/incidencies<\/a>): you can tell us what you have found, attach photographs, etc.<\/p>\n

In the review we conducted this summer, as always, the largest number of incidents concerns signage\u2014the elements that suffer most from both the elements and vandalism, especially considering that the Tourdera has more than 850 signage supports and 1800 signage plaques. More specifically, this review detected 149 incidents regarding signage (87%) and 22 regarding sections (13%). An increase in incidents is observed in this year’s review, due to the abundant rains we have had, which have caused many issues related to the growth of vegetation covering the signs. Of all incidents, 124 were minor (73%), compared to the remaining 47 severe ones (27%), where severe incidents are those that could pose a significant risk of the user not recognizing the route track and getting lost. Finally, during the review tasks, 24 incidents (14%) were resolved on the spot, always taking into account tasks that can be done while taking advantage of the review visit, such as replacing Tourdera vinyls, straightening bent banners, simple vegetation pruning, etc. The remaining 146 incidents were pending resolution (85%), which are being resolved in the days following the issuance of reports, except for one that was already in the process of being resolved (1%).<\/p>\n
