The Sant Esteve de Palautordera town council has begun improvement work this summer on the accessibility of the surroundings of the Montcl\u00fas Castle, within the framework of the Tordera route. The actions, financed by the Barcelona Provincial Council, will allow Tourdera users to enjoy a variant for hikers that enables them to visit, among other places, the Montcl\u00fas Castle.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The layout of the Tordera route through the municipality of Sant Esteve de Palautordera is designed with two variants: one for bicycles, which runs along a forest track that connects the village to the municipality of Fogars de Montcl\u00fas, passing by the well-known CRIC circus, and one for hikers, which will allow for a visit to the Montcl\u00fas Castle and will link up with the bicycle variant in the village of Sant Esteve itself and at the old church of Santa Margarida, now in the municipality of Fogars.<\/p>\n

Specifically, the work that has already begun consists of making the existing path between Santa Margarida and the Montcl\u00fas Castle accessible. This trail had steep slopes, very marked erosion, and where hikers, lacking a well-marked path, ended up passing through different points, creating a greater impact. Likewise, safety has been increased by installing protective fencing in areas with steep drops caused by old landslides.<\/p>\n

These actions have been financed by the Barcelona Provincial Council (Tourism Department) and executed by the Sant Esteve de Palautordera Town Council.<\/p>\n
