The Sant Celoni town council has already completed the first improvement works on the surface of the Tordera Route within its municipality. Specifically, the scope of work included repairing several water crossings over the surface, as well as improving a 400m section between the La Batllòria footbridge and the Les Llobateres wetland area.
The layout of the Tordera route through the municipality of Sant Celoni, which runs largely parallel between the Tordera river and the AP-7 motorway, had areas of the track with ruts, puddles, etc., in several points. Recently, the council has finished the works to improve these points and make the walk along the route more pleasant.
First, a 400-meter section of the path between La Batllòria and the Les Llobateres wetland area was repaired. At this point, there was a significant concentration of puddles on the surface, so 20 centimeters of the existing material were removed and a layer of new material was added homogeneously.
On the other hand, several stream crossings that drain from the Montnegre towards the Tordera have been repaired: Pla de Lloró stream, Montnegre stream, Ruscatelles stream, Telleda stream, Sot dels Bacs stream, number 7 stream, Bocs stream, and Olzinelles stream. The repair of these crossings consisted of creating a ford using concrete pavement with stones. The terrain was made impermeable, preventing erosion, water accumulation, and the formation of puddles in these specific points.
Nevertheless, these actions are the preliminary steps before the signaling of the itinerary, which will take place in the coming months, and we will keep you informed about it.
