For several months, the ford crossing the Santa Coloma stream in Massanes had been gone due to Storm Gloria, meaning the section between the center of Massanes and the train station was completely cut off. Although a provisional action was carried out a few months ago to allow passage, a new flood washed the path away again. Since last week, circulation over the stream has been provisionally restored, pending the execution of the final project, which is scheduled for after the summer.
Currently, a temporary repair has been carried out, allowing vehicles and people to pass, but caution must be exercised as it is a transitional measure that would likely not withstand a significant rise in the stream’s water level.
Therefore, the Massanes – Train Station section is now considered operational again, but extreme caution must be taken in case of rain, and instructions not to cross in case of floods must be followed. For this reason, we ask that you circulate with caution at this point (red section on the map below). We leave you with a couple of photographs of the state of the ford after Storm Gloria and the current repair.
