As we have announced repeatedly, Storm Gloria caused significant damage to the Tourdera route, especially between the municipalities of Hostalric and Fogars de la Selva. Specifically, the route was cut off across the Tordera, and while the crossing remains unrepaired, this week signage has been installed for the route on the other side of the river.
The section of the main Tourdera route that runs between the Arbúcies stream and the crossing over the Tordera river (the old metal footbridge) was cut off to passage as a result of Storm Gloria (red sections on the map).
The footbridge disappeared, and the section of the path over the riverbed was completely obscured and gone in many places. For this reason, and until the footbridge over the Tordera is rebuilt, this section of the path is closed, and to continue the route, you must use the diversion indicated in orange on the map.
When you are doing the route, on the ground, you simply have to follow the existing signs, as this week it has been signposted on the ground, and you will be able to follow it with the same signage as the regular route.
This diversion does not imply any change in the start and end of sections, meaning you can start and finish the sections from Hostalric as always, but to access the town from the main itinerary, you will have to do so from the BV-5123 road bridge, following the Hostalric signs, the entrance to which is 100m after crossing the bridge.
Although this diversion is signposted on the ground, we provide you with the track via Wikiloc of the diversion so you can complete the route without problems (orange section on the map).
We leave you with some images of the new signage:
