Castle de Montsoriu – Gaserans section

If you are interested in the new sections of the Tourdera, you can now download the tracks and get information on the section that links Montsoriu Castle and the center of Gaserans, in Sant Feliu de Buixalleu. Like the last three sections we have announced, this is the Tourdera itinerary that follows the path of the Arbúcies stream, which will allow you to discover some very interesting places in the territory such as the flagship Castle of the Viscounty of Cabrera.

The information for a new section of the “Tordera and Arbúcies stream route” is now available, in this case between Montsoriu Castle and the church of Sant Llorenç de Gaserans. In recent weeks, an important task of signposting the remaining sections of the route has been completed and we are gradually uploading all the information to the website. This new section, corresponding to the branch of the route along the Arbúcies stream, will allow you to connect Montsoriu Castle, the most important Gothic castle in Catalonia, with the small center of Gaserans, specifically with its church, which belongs to the municipality of Sant Feliu de Buixalleu.

Part of this new section, like its predecessors in the municipality of Arbúcies, takes place through spaces included within the limits of the Montseny Natural Park. Above all, it is a section that runs through forests, mainly Mediterranean cork oak forests.

Currently, you can now have the information on this new section, which presents variants to be done exclusively on foot. The difficulty of the section depends largely on the direction in which you do it, since the ascent and descent slopes are significantly different. Regarding the length, it is a section of about 8 kilometers if you do it on foot, or about 10 kilometers if you do it by bicycle. You will find information about the section in the following links on the website, which vary depending on the direction in which you want to do it:

We leave you with a photograph of the section, hoping you like it and will be encouraged to do it!

The adaptation and signage works of the Girona sections of the route have been co-financed by the Girona Provincial Council and the different participating municipalities:
