Section Tourdera Gaserans – Hostalric

As a result of the severe damage caused by Storm Gloria, part of this section is closed due to the disappearance of the path along the bed of the Arbúcies stream in Sant Feliu de Buixalleu.

The Gaserans – Hostalric section, of low difficulty, is 7 km long, with a cumulative ascent of only 26 m and a cumulative descent of 81 m. The section begins at the Church of Sant Llorenç de Gaserans and ends in the medieval town of Hostalric, which offers a wide range of tourist services, including bars, restaurants, shops, municipal facilities, and more.

The start of the section has a parking area and an information panel for the route. To begin the route, head towards the road connecting Gaserans and Grions, where you will see the first wayfinding sign. The first part of the route follows this paved road, which has very little traffic, until it branches off onto a forest track that leads all the way to Hostalric. Always remember not to leave the marked path and to respect the flora and fauna of the surrounding area at all times.

The Tourdera section between Gaserans and Hostalric is an easy walk of almost 7 kilometres in length, with only 26 m of ascent. It is therefore a very easy section that allows you to discover the lower course of the Arbúcies stream and reach the medieval town of Hostalric, with its fortress forming the backdrop. The route begins at the information panel located at the Church of Sant Llorenç de Gaserans, where parking is available if you arrive by car. Please note that there are no services in the surrounding area, so you should come well prepared for the route. From the church, heading towards the road, you will find Tourdera signs, wayfinding markers and yellow painted trail marks that will accompany you all the way to Hostalric.

As for the surface, the first part of the route follows a paved road with very little traffic. After approximately one kilometre, you will leave it to take a forest track leading towards Hostalric. Along this forest-track section, you will cross the Arbúcies stream via a channelled ford and continue along the opposite bank until you reach the main route. At this point, you can head into Hostalric via Via Romana street, or continue along the main Tordera Route, following the Tordera River past the market gardens of Hostalric until you reach Plaça dels Bous in Hostalric.

A few metres from Plaça dels Bous, following Carrer Raval, you will find the tourist office (Domus Sent Soví), which is also a gastronomic centre, with the route information panel located in front of it. Here you can ask for information about Hostalric and take the opportunity to visit the town and discover its medieval heritage. In addition, Hostalric offers all kinds of tourist services, including bars, restaurants, shops, and more.
