Section Tourdera Hostalric – Gaserans

As a consequence of the significant damage caused by Storm Gloria, part of this section is closed due to the disappearance of the path along the bed of the Arbúcies stream in Sant Feliu de Buixalleu.

The Hostalric – Gaserans section is of low difficulty, with a route length of 7 km, a cumulative ascent of only 74 m and a cumulative descent of 19 m. The section begins in Hostalric, specifically in front of the Tourist Office and the Domus Sent Soví gastronomic centre, and ends at the Church of Sant Llorenç de Gaserans. In Hostalric, you will find a wide range of tourist services, including bars, restaurants, shops, municipal facilities, etc., but please note that you will not find such services in Gaserans, so this should be taken into account when planning your route.

In Hostalric, there are public parking areas very close by (behind the Tourist Office), and you will find the route information panel there. To begin the route, head towards carrer Raval, which you should follow uphill to Plaça dels Bous, where you will see the route wayfinding signs. From Hostalric, you will first follow the main route alongside the Tordera River until you reach the Arbúcies stream, which you will then follow in the direction of Gaserans.

The Tourdera section from Hostalric to Gaserans is an easy walk of almost 7 kilometres in length, with 74 m of cumulative ascent. It is therefore an easy section that will allow you to discover part of the main Tourdera route, following the Tordera River, as well as part of the Arbúcies Stream route along the lower course of this stream. The final destination is Sant Llorenç de Gaserans, which belongs to the municipality of Sant Feliu de Buixalleu.

To follow the route, start from the route information panel located in front of the Tourist Office and head towards carrer Raval. Following the uphill direction, continue to Plaça dels Bous, where you will find route signs that will guide you towards the market gardens of Hostalric. Always follow the wayfinding signs and the yellow painted trail markers. During the route, you will pass through the market gardens, alongside the Tordera River, along the Arbúcies Stream, and other areas, always on forest tracks, until you reach the road from Grions to Gaserans. At this point, you will need to follow this paved road which, despite having very little traffic, requires you to pay attention to vehicles. After approximately one kilometre, you will arrive at the Church of Sant Llorenç de Gaserans, where this section ends and the next one begins.

Please note that you will not find any services in Gaserans, so plan your route carefully before setting out and keep this in mind.
