As part of the deployment of one of the actions of the Sustainable Tourism Plan for the Destination (PSTD) of Inner La Selva, in the first week of February, construction began on what will be the “Riells i Viabrea Ornithological Park”, located in the 1st of October park, which is signposted from the Tourdera and is approximately 200 meters away.
The project is being developed in the October 1st, 2017 Park, a 39,000 m2 space located within the Bosc de la Batllòria residential area. This area consists of a small wooded area integrated into the urbanized environment, featuring a stream that maintains moisture throughout the year and forms a small pond at the bottom of the land.
With a budget of €36,416, the intervention aims to create an ornithological park linked to the Tourdera Route, transforming this green space in Riells i Viabrea into a point for observing local fauna, such as birds and amphibians, as well as native vegetation. To achieve this, several actions will be carried out, such as improving the path that runs through the park, adapting the footbridges over the stream, restoring the pond naturally, planting species native to the area, and eliminating invasive plants.
In a later phase, within another line of action of the PSTD, tourist signage for the space will be installed, about which we will inform you accordingly.
