After we announced last week that Palafolls had joined the project, we can now announce that Malgrat de Mar has also joined the route and, therefore, the Tordera route will start from both the Girona side (Blanes) and the Barcelona side (Malgrat de Mar). Thus, there are currently 17 municipalities adhering to the project.
As we have mentioned several times, the “Tordera Route and Arbúcies Stream” project has managed to bring together and unite the interests of a large number of municipalities, all of them around an element that gives so much identity to the territory as the Tordera. The proposal to create a hiking/cycle tourism route that allows following the course of the river and some of its tributaries, taking advantage of existing paths but providing them with adequate signage, is already sparking interest among the public.
In the municipality of Malgrat de Mar, the route will start in the town center itself, specifically at the train station, and will head towards the mouth of the Tordera, bearing in mind that to get there it will be necessary to go around the campsite area, and it will follow the course of the Tordera to enter the municipality of Palafolls.
As in the rest of the municipalities, adherence to the project is materialized with the signing of a collaboration agreement between the Consell Comarcal de la Selva and the town council. We hope that in the very near future the Tordera route will have signage as it passes through Malgrat de Mar, following the approximate layout that you can consult in the itinerary section of the website.
