A few days ago, some improvements were made in Hostalric to the directional signage of the trail signs following the route through the municipality. Specifically, directional signs that had suffered from vandalism were replaced, some had even disappeared, and at the same time, a route information panel was relocated to the train station car park and some vegetation pruning was carried out that was blocking route signs.
As part of the routine maintenance activities for the Tordera route, the Hostalric City Council has carried out some improvements to the route signage. One of the main problems with outdoor trail signage is the effect of vandalism, which every year causes the need to replace missing or heavily damaged signs. Specifically, at the end of May, the Hostalric City Council carried out a general maintenance operation of the Tourdera, especially regarding the signage in the municipality.
Among these operations, vandalized (bent) signs were replaced, missing signs were replenished, one of the Tourdera panels was relocated to the train station, and vegetation pruning operations were carried out to clear blocked signs.
The action, which was carried out in a single day, did not pose any problem for following the route, as it was carried out “in situ” and it was not necessary to remove any type of sign. Below we provide you with some images of the interventions and, remember, if you detect any incidents regarding the signage, you can send us the information via the web form enabled to receive these types of notifications.
