Modification of route and improvements to signage in Vallgorguina

This January, various improvement works on the Tourdera were completed in the municipality of Vallgorguina, which have incorporated both a small modification to the route and a general improvement of the signage throughout the municipality. These actions represent a substantial improvement to the user experience when taking the route.

The municipality of Vallgorguina has one of the Tourdera connecting itineraries, that is, small links from the main route itinerary to relatively nearby population centers, as is the case with Breda, Riells i Viabrea, Gualba, or Massanes. The Vallgorguina connecting itinerary, which links with the main Tourdera itinerary through the Pont Trencat area, between Santa Maria de Palautordera and Sant Celoni, currently had some deficiencies in signage and, above all, its path passed through the Parc Motor Vallgorguina, a motocross itinerary, which was not very attractive for users of the route, making the user experience not entirely satisfactory, especially during weekends when there was more movement in the motor park.

After the work carried out with the town council and the owners of the private lands, finally at the end of 2024, a solution was found to avoid passing through the circuit, slightly modifying the itinerary, which has meant a substantial improvement for the route. Likewise, a complete update and improvement of the signage of the entire route through the municipality has been carried out, with the installation of new signage, improvement of the existing one, installation of warning signs when entering private properties, etc.

Specifically, damaged tracking banners have been updated (vinyls in poor condition, bent, etc.), four new supports with new tracking banners have been installed, a new tracking marker has been installed, two new access regulation signs for private property have been installed, the fixing of four existing signage supports (two markers and three banners) has been consolidated, three existing signage supports have been relocated, and missing tracking plates have been replaced. The action has also involved, with the approval of the private owners, the opening of a small section of new path of approximately 100m. All these actions began in December and were completed during the month of January this year. We leave you a small collection of photographs of the actions carried out.
