In recent weeks, the entire signage of the Tourdera has been renewed throughout the municipality of Malgrat de Mar. The project, subsidized and executed by the Barcelona Provincial Council (Service Catalog), has also involved integrating the signage into the Maresme network of paths.
If in recent days you have walked along the section of the Tourdera that runs through the municipality of Malgrat de Mar, you will have noticed that all the signage has been recently renewed. The project, which was executed by the Barcelona Provincial Council within the framework of the 2023 Service Catalog, responds to three needs:
a) Replacement of signage that had disappeared as a consequence of the impact of Storm Gloria.
b) Unification and integration of all signage supports, and their contents, with the Maresme network of paths.
c) Reinforcement of the Tourdera signage at new points.

As you know, Storm Gloria is still having an effect on the Tourdera, and one of the points with damages was Malgrat. Specifically, some signage supports disappeared during the storm and had not yet been replaced. Although following the route was perfectly possible without these elements, their presence reinforces tracking and improves the user experience. In this sense, the connection with Blanes is also improved, since just as it was done on the Blanes side, the route currently also marks the two towns from each side of the river. Likewise, a Tourdera panel has been placed at the mouth of the river, specifically at the beginning of the path that leads to the viewpoint, just as it was done with the route on the Blanes side.

This project has also served to consolidate signage within a network of itineraries, since all signs have been integrated into the Maresme network of paths, combining existing signage on the ground and making it more understandable for the user. As you know, network signage consists of tracking banners that indicate directions and distances, and to mark products, such as the Tourdera, you have to look for them in the center of the support.

Finally, in some points of the route, the presence of Tourdera signage has been reinforced by adding plaques with the image of the route, like those you will be able to see along the Camí del Pla or the Camí de la Pomareda.

We hope you will soon be able to enjoy the section of the Tourdera through Malgrat de Mar, which will allow you to take a nice dip, observe the nature of the protected dunes, or go to the mouth viewpoint to observe the wildlife. Mind you, always respecting nature and without crossing the spaces delimited with no-entry signs, such as the Tordera point area or the closed dune and psammophilous vegetation zones. We leave you with this video to get a taste of it!!!
