The crossing over the Santa Coloma stream in Massanes has been reopened.

One of the pending works that remained to be resolved after the Gloria storm was the repair of the ford over the Santa Coloma stream at the height of the Maçanet – Massanes train station. This meant that the section of the route between the station and the town of Massanes was closed to pedestrians, as it was necessary to cross the stream directly over the riverbed. Since October 15, it has been possible to cross this point without problems, and therefore, the section is restored.

Although it has been more than a year and a half since the Gloria storm, some infrastructures affected by this strong storm that so affected the Tordera basin still remain in the territory. Little by little, work has been carried out at various points, and this month, we can already give you the good news that the ford that crosses the Santa Coloma stream in Massanes has been recovered again.

During all this time, provisional actions have been carried out that allowed passage, but every time the stream rose a little due to the rains, the path was affected again. Currently, and after several weeks of work, the ford over the stream has been rebuilt, allowing the passage of vehicles and people more safely, but you must still drive with caution and never cross when there is a flood, as indicated by the signage, since it is a flood-prone area. Thus, the Massanes – Train station section is considered operational again.
