During the months of October and November, we have carried out the autumn review of the Tourdera, the second complete review of the route for this year 2024. After sending the reports to each town council with the status of the route in their municipality, now is the time to make the arrangements! Do you want to know a little about the results?
As you know, throughout the year the Tourdera is reviewed in its entirety twice to know the status of the sections and signs and to be able to guarantee that hikers and cyclists can follow the route without problems. Precisely this month of November, we have finished the second review of the route this year, where a total of 117 incidents have been detected spread across the 18 municipalities participating in the route. For each town council, a corresponding detailed report has been prepared, which includes a file for each incident, and it has been sent to the entity in charge of the maintenance of the route in the municipality in question.
In general, in the Tourdera, maintenance is carried out in three ways: in some cases, it is the town council itself that carries out the improvement actions through its municipal brigade, in other cases it is the maintenance team of the Montseny Natural Park and, finally, some municipalities have subcontracted the maintenance, either with the route maintenance service of the Consell Comarcal de la Selva or, others, do it through the Fundació Acció Baix Montseny.
We never tire of repeating that maintenance is a very important aspect when offering a quality product for Tourdera users, which is why every year we carry out these two complete reviews and ensure that those responsible for maintenance in each municipality resolve them. Remember, also, that as users you can send us any incidents you detect through the web form available (www.tourdera.cat/incidencies): you can tell us what you have found, attach photographs, etc.
In this autumn review, the largest number of incidents, as is usual and normal, are about the signage, the elements that suffer most from both the elements and vandalism. Remember that in the Tourdera there are more than 850 signage supports and 1800 signs, so it is normal for many incidents to be detected on signs throughout the year. More specifically, in this review, 98 incidents regarding signage (84%) and 19 regarding sections (16%) have been detected, percentages very similar to the spring review. Of all the incidents, 80 were minor (68%), compared to the remaining 37 serious ones (32%), where serious incidents are those that can pose a significant risk that the user loses the track of the route and gets lost. Finally, during the review tasks, 22 incidents (19%) were already resolved in the field, always taking into account that these are tasks that can be done taking advantage of the field visit, such as the replacement of Tourdera vinyls, straightening of bent banners, simple pruning of vegetation, etc. Of the rest, 77 incidents were pending resolution (66%), although they are always resolved in the days following the issuance of reports, and 18 incidents (15%) were already in the process of resolution.

We leave you with some sample photographs of some maintenance work carried out recently:

We hope you enjoy all the sections of the Tourdera and, remember that if you detect any incidents, you can communicate them to us through the web form!!!
