This year, the Tourdera project monitoring meeting took place in the town of Montseny, the municipality that saw the birth of the route, as it was the first to signpost it, specifically from the source of the Tordera (Font Bona) to the town. Although a short section of the route was planned to be walked with all attendees at the end of the meeting, the long-awaited rain caused the walk to be cancelled.
The meeting began with the intervention of the Mayor of Montseny, Ms. Núria Masnou, who welcomed the attendees to the municipality and highlighted the importance of the tourism sector in an environment like the Montseny, where the primary sector was traditionally dominant, and where the development of this tourism sector must be done with respect for the environment and these highly important sectors. This was followed by an intervention by the Councilor for Tourism of the La Selva County Council, Ms. Jennifer Pérez, who highlighted the role of the Tourdera as a tourism product that has been developed and is possible thanks to the participation of the 18 participating town councils.
Next, the technician of the Tourdera project proceeded to explain the main actions carried out within the framework of the project during 2023, as set out in the tasks of the agreement signed between all the participants in the project. The meeting highlighted how important actions were initiated in the last year, such as involving businesses in the route, or improving the Tourdera account on Wikiloc, making the route more visible and giving users more facilities to follow it.
During the open floor for discussion, among other contributions, the possibility of creating a variant of the Tourdera between the town of Sant Esteve de Palautordera and Montseny was debated, which also involves the municipality of Fogars de Montclús. This will also be an action to take into account in 2024, which we hope the users of the route will be able to enjoy very soon.
