Section Tourdera Breda – Riells i Viabrea

The Breda – Riells i Viabrea section is a very easy 3.8-kilometer route, entirely downhill with a negative elevation gain of 83 meters, which you will travel almost entirely along a bike path separated from traffic. Before finishing the section, you will pass through the town of Viabrea, where the train station is located. While much of the bike path is paved (between Breda and Viabrea), the section between Viabrea and Can Salvà is a segregated path made of compacted sand (sauló).

At the beginning of the route, in the center of Breda, you will find various parking spaces and a good range of services such as restaurants, shops, etc. The route starts next to the monastery of Sant Salvador de Breda and the Town Hall, where you will find the route’s information panel and the first follow-up signs. Remember not to deviate from the marked path and to respect the local flora and fauna at all times.

The Tourdera route section from Breda to Riells i Viabrea is very easy, almost 4 km long, with a total downhill elevation loss of 83 metres. The route begins at the information panel located in Breda, next to the monastery and the Town Hall, on Carrer Nou. Following the signs, you will continue along Carrer Nou in the direction of traffic and will have the option of leaving the village by following either the pedestrian signs or the cycling signs (to avoid streets with one-way traffic in the opposite direction).

Once you reach the edge of the village, you will find the start of the cycle lane that will take you to the centre of Viabrea. This cycle lane, completely separated from traffic, runs parallel to the GI-552 road. It is important that you stay on the designated route at all times and follow the recommendations for respecting nature. Once in Viabrea, you can either head to the train station or continue to Can Salvà, which houses the Riells i Viabrea Town Hall and marks the end of this section. These final metres of the route also follow a lane separated from traffic, although in this case the surface is compacted granite sand.
