Inauguration of the new Tordera River Walk

Last Tuesday, August 23rd, the remodeling of the Tordera riverside promenade was inaugurated, between the Sardana park and the Fogars road. This entire space was severely affected by the Gloria storm in 2020, the year in which the slope consolidation works were carried out, but it was necessary to finish the work with the remodeling of the entire promenade, where the Tordera route passes.

After several months with the path closed to people, it is now possible to pass through the new Tordera riverside promenade where the Tordera route passes. As we informed you in June, the remodeling works of the Tordera riverside promenade have been delayed for a long time as a result of the high number of bureaucratic procedures and the search for financing to carry it out.

This same week, coinciding with the Tordera Main Festival, this entire section of the riverside promenade was inaugurated, which is already open to the public and can be traveled through. However, there are still some pending tasks, such as the signaling for bicycle and pedestrian paths, the installation of a new kiosk, and the removal of elements that will finish transforming and gaining more open space.

This entire section of the riverside promenade has been closed to passage for months, so a small provisional detour of approximately 400m was set up, which momentarily separated the route from the river, passing through the Parc de l’alcalde Sagrera. Thus, another impact of the Gloria storm that we can consider closed, which adds to the one that will soon be solved between Fogars de la Selva and Sant Feliu de Buixalleu, consisting of a footbridge over the Tordera river.
