Improvement actions on the walkway along the Arbúcies stream

If you have recently walked the stretch of the River Tordera between Arbúcies and the Pipes Mill, known as the riverside walk, you will have noticed that several improvements have been made to the route, including improvements to the signage, which we already informed you about in a news story last May. In this article, we inform you about several works on this section, which were completed in June and improve user safety and experience.

A few weeks ago, various improvement works were completed on the stretch of the River Tordera that coincides with the promenade along the stream in Arbúcies. Specifically, the Selva County Council, through a Destination Sustainability Plan (PSTD), has carried out several improvements throughout the entire stretch in Arbúcies, substantially enhancing user safety and experience.

Specifically, several improvements have been made along the entire route:

  • Improvement of several stair sections for hikers
  • Slope improvements for bicycles
  • Updating a footbridge over the Arbúcies stream
  • Installation of protective barriers
  • Creation of a swimming area
  • Improvement of a children’s play area
  • Improvements to the fountain and surroundings of the Molí de les Pipes

To all these improvements, we must add the heritage signage that we informed you about in an article last May, which provides a significant amount of interpretation of elements such as the Pipes Mill, the Farga del Roquer, the Gorg Nou, various pump-fed fountains you’ll find throughout the town center, or also explain the promenade along the stream itself and the relationship with water and leisure, among other things.

Here are some images of the performances and the signage!
