During the summer, we informed you in an article that reconstruction works had begun on the Ramió footbridge, a historic bridge over the Tordera River where the Tourdera route passed before the Gloria storm, between the Les Llobateres wetland area and Hostalric. We have the good news to announce that this October the works have finished and the footbridge is now fully operational.
The Ramió footbridge is a crossing widely used by the residents of Ramió, in the municipality of Fogars de la Selva, which was seriously affected by the storm Gloria, forcing a detour on the Tourdera route to avoid this crossing. After some months of works, this October the bridge works have been completed and, therefore, we can close another issue caused by the storm, even if it is more than two years later.
After this dark episode in the Tordera Basin, as we explained in this article about the damage caused by the Gloria storm, the consequences were disastrous, with many disruptions, which, little by little, have been resolved as the municipalities have secured funding. Recently we have been telling you about the cases of the footbridge in Santa Maria de Palautordera, the reconstruction of the slopes in the town of Tordera and the subsequent remodeling of the river walk or the footbridge over the Santa Coloma stream in Massanes, among many other interventions.
This month we are in luck, because with the reconstruction of the Ramió footbridge, both the residents of Fogars de la Selva who live in the Ramió area, and many users of the Tourdera route will be able to cross the river again at this point, very close to the Gorg d’en Perxistó, and continue with the main route itinerary. Currently, although the crossing is possible to cross the river, it is still necessary to make a change in the signage of the route, which will be diverted through the industrial estate area, since the path along the riverbed disappeared and currently does not guarantee a passage for bicycles in good condition (at the same time as trying to avoid a new episode of flooding that erases the path again).
Therefore, in the coming weeks we will work with the municipalities of Sant Feliu de Buixalleu and Hostalric to restore the path through the industrial estate area to avoid all these future problems and ensure the correct and safe passage for bicycles.
