You may have already heard of the Montseny – Costa Brava (MCB), a non-competitive, charity-based resistance hike and cycle ride organized by AE Montseny, consisting of a descent, on foot or by bicycle, from the source of the Tordera (Coll de Sant Marçal) to the mouth. Furthermore, it is a charitable initiative to help create the SJD Pediatric Cancer Center in Barcelona, the largest pediatric oncology center in Europe. Are you in?
The descent will take place on June 29, 2019, but the registration period is already open, so all those interested know where to go (at the end of the text you will find the website and contact details). In summary, it is a descent activity following the Tordera and Arbúcies stream river courses and following the Tordera route path. Therefore, the activity will link two places as important as the Montseny Massif (Biosphere Reserve) and the Mediterranean Sea.
It should be noted that, besides being a non-competitive sporting and recreational activity, it is a charitable event to help the little ones. Specifically, the organizers want to participate in the goal of creating the SJD Pediatric Cancer Center Barcelona, the largest pediatric oncology center in Europe, which is part of the #ParaLosValientes project of the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital in Barcelona. So, if you decide to participate, you will also be contributing to a good cause!
Part of the town councils that have made the Tordera Route possible collaborate in the event, as well as other entities in the territory, who will ensure the development of the activity in their respective municipalities. Regarding the more technical and detailed description of the event, you can already consult the regulations on the website.
All information about the event can be found on the activity’s website (www.montsenycostabrava.com) or you can contact the organization directly by email (montsenycostabrava@gmail.com) or by phone (+34 625 413 572).
