New signage in some municipalities of La Tourdera

For some weeks now, some municipalities on the Tordera route, such as Fogars de la Selva, Massanes, Arbúcies, or Riells i Viabrea, have been carrying out signage improvements that will mean an improvement for the route, both in terms of monitoring and heritage interpretation.

Within the framework of a much broader project involving many more municipalities, some from the Tourdera, such as Massanes, Fogars de la Selva, Arbúcies, or Riells i Viabrea, are making improvements to the signage of tourist itineraries. Some of these itineraries, such as the hiking and cycling network of the La Selva region, are used by the Tordera route itself, as they share the same path, which means an improvement in signage for the Tourdera.

Specifically, improvements are being made to directional signage, with the installation of banners and tracking plates throughout the network. This signage, which follows the “Manual for the signage of paths for non-motorized mobility” of the Generalitat de Catalunya, is easily identifiable by its yellow color. If you do the route through these municipalities, you will be able to see the new small plates and banners, which will help users follow the route.

Likewise, within the framework of the same project, actions are being carried out both to make points of interest near the itineraries more accessible and for the interpretation of heritage elements. Thus, for example, the Tourdera signs how to get to the Museum of Farming (Museu de la Pagesia) in Fogars, to the hermitage of Sant Roc in Massanes, to the 1st of October square in Riells, or to the Mare de Déu de la Pietat in Arbúcies, among others. Or, interpretive totems have been installed at the church of Sant Esteve in Massanes, the church of Sant Cebrià in Fogars, or the Sant Llop stream in Riells.

All these actions are financed with the support of the Department of Business and Labor (Departament d’Empresa i Treball), through a Territorial Tourism Promotion Plan, the Girona Provincial Council, and the different participating town councils, including Riells i Viabrea, Fogars de la Selva, Massanes, and Arbúcies.
