Section Tourdera Hostalric – Massanes

The Hostalric – Massanes section is an easy route of approximately 4.5 kilometres in length, linking the urban centres of Hostalric and Massanes. The route begins in front of the Hostalric Tourist Office, where you will find the route information panel and public parking. To begin, you should head towards carrer Ravalet and continue downhill, following the route signs towards Massanes.

Please remember that throughout the route, you should not leave the marked path and must always follow safety recommendations and respect nature.

If you have decided to follow the Tourdera Route section between Hostalric and Massanes, which is shared throughout its entire length by hikers and cyclists, you will cover 4 kilometres with a cumulative ascent of 101 metres. It is therefore an easy section, mainly following paved roads that are very well signposted on the surface itself (pedestrian crossings, cycle lanes, red traffic-calming zones for vehicles, etc.).

At the start of the route, in front of the Hostalric Tourist Office (Domus Sent Soví), you will find a route information panel. Directly behind the Tourist Office there is a large car park where you can leave your vehicle. To begin the route, head towards carrer Ravalet and take the downhill direction. Along the route you will find wayfinding signs and, outside the urban area, yellow painted trail markers. The meaning of these markers follows the standard system used on painted routes: a single line indicates that you are on the correct path, a cross indicates that you are on the wrong path, and a 90° angle marker indicates a sharp change of direction or a turn. In areas where the route is shared with vehicles, parts of the roadway have also been marked in red and route logos have been added to make navigation easier.

Once you have descended carrer Ravalet, you will reach the Hostalric Local Police headquarters. There, you will see a signpost indicating the Tourdera branch towards Massanes. At this point, following the direction to Massanes, you must cross at the pedestrian crossing and pass underneath the Hostalric bypass until you reach carrer Joaquim Ruyra, on a shared section where you should pay attention to traffic. This street will take you to the Can Tià Camps residential area and then through the Massanes industrial estate, where you will travel along a cycle lane separated from traffic. Following the signs, you will reach the Massanes road (GI-5121), which you must follow for 850 metres until you reach the village of Massanes, where this section ends, taking great care with traffic.
