As you know, during the month of January, with the strong effects of Storm Gloria, the most significant incidents occurred throughout the lower Tordera area, especially in the municipalities of Blanes and Malgrat de Mar. In recent weeks, work has been finalizing in these municipalities, both on the Tordera river embankments and on the Pont d’en Pixota between Blanes and Malgrat.

Normalized passage through the Sot de la Geneta
Still due to the effects of Storm Gloria, until a few days ago it was still necessary to cycle with caution when passing through the Sot de la Geneta, on the section between Montsoriu Castle and Arbúcies for bicycles. Currently, the passage can be made with total normality after repairing the significant sinkhole that was on the track, which required getting off the bike.
Arrangement at the ford over the Santa Coloma stream in Massanes
For several months, the ford crossing the Santa Coloma stream in Massanes had disappeared due to Storm Gloria, which meant the section between the center of Massanes and the train station was completely cut off. Currently, a temporary repair has been carried out, allowing the passage of vehicles and people, but caution must be exercised because it is a transitory measure that would likely not withstand a major surge of the stream.
Improvements to the route in the municipality of Arbúcies
For a few weeks now, the section of the Tourdera that follows the Arbúcies stream, in the municipality of Arbúcies, also known as the “Passeig per la riera” (Stream Walk), has been in perfect condition for hiking and cycling. After Storm Gloria, the section was severely damaged in some areas, which required actions to restore it, especially in the Can Cassó area.
Improvements to the route in the municipality of Sant Celoni
This week, improvement works have been carried out along the Tourdera route through the municipality of Sant Celoni, which had been significantly damaged after Storm Gloria. Specifically, a major sinkhole in the Llobateres wetland area and the crossing over the Fuirosos stream have been repaired. Remember that before doing any section of the route, you have the route map with the current conditions available.
Improvements to the route in the municipality of Arbúcies
The Tourdera route through the municipality of Arbúcies covers no less than a 35.7 km route, from its connection with the municipality of Montseny (near the Coll de Sant Marçal), to Montsoriu Castle, in the municipality of Sant Feliu de Buixalleu. In all these kilometers, the damage during Storm Gloria was significant, especially on the route that coincides with the “Passeig per la riera” (Stream Walk) and at all those points where it crosses watercourses. For this reason, although improvements have already been made, such as those we comment on here, remember that before doing any section, it is advisable to consult the route map with the current conditions.
Improvement works in the municipality of Hostalric
As we have been informing you over the last few days, little by little, the improvement works carried out along the Tourdera route following the passage of Storm Gloria and the slow return to normality with the confinement period are being seen. Today we inform you about the important works that the Hostalric City Council has carried out on the layout of the Tordera route through its municipality. As we mentioned here last week, we have made the route map available to Tourdera users, showing all current incidents caused by Storm Gloria, which severely damaged infrastructure adjacent to the river. One of the most affected municipalities was Fogars de la Selva, and today we are informing you of the improvements that have already been carried out there.
