In recent weeks, the entire signage of the Tourdera has been renewed throughout the municipality of Malgrat de Mar. The project, subsidized and executed by the Barcelona Provincial Council (Service Catalog), has also involved integrating the signage into the Maresme network of paths.

New location of the Tourdera information panel at the Blanes river mouth.
This week, the route information panel, which was located at the river mouth, has been moved. Specifically, the panel was in its old location, currently inaccessible to the public, as the area is closed to pedestrians as a measure to preserve the environment. The panel has now been relocated to the viewpoint area, along with other interpretive elements.
The new Ramió footbridge is now a reality
During the summer, we informed you in an article that reconstruction works had begun on the Ramió footbridge, a historic bridge over the Tordera River where the Tourdera route passed before the Gloria storm, between the Les Llobateres wetland area and Hostalric. We have the good news to announce that this October the works have finished and the footbridge is now fully operational.
Completion of painting work on the new river promenade in Tordera
As we mentioned a few weeks ago, at the end of August, the remodeling of the Tordera riverside promenade was inaugurated, between the Sardana park and the Fogars road, but some small details were still missing, such as the signage for bicycle and pedestrian lanes, among others.
Inauguration of the new Tordera River Walk
Last Tuesday, August 23rd, the remodeling of the Tordera riverside promenade was inaugurated, between the Sardana park and the Fogars road. This entire space was severely affected by the Gloria storm in 2020, the year in which the slope consolidation works were carried out, but it was necessary to finish the work with the remodeling of the entire promenade, where the Tordera route passes.
Start of reconstruction work on the Ramió footbridge
After a long time, we can finally announce that construction work has begun on the reconstruction of the Ramió footbridge, a historic footbridge over the Tordera River where the Tourdera passed before Storm Gloria, between the Llobateres wetland and Hostalric. This crossing, much used by the residents of Ramió, in the municipality of Fogars de la Selva, was seriously affected by the impact of Gloria, which forced a detour in the Tordera route to avoid this passage.
Inauguration of the new footbridge over the Tordera in Santa Maria de Palautordera
Last Saturday, June 11, at 12 noon, the long-awaited inauguration of the footbridge over the Tordera River took place in the Serra neighborhood of Santa Maria de Palautordera. This footbridge disappeared during the serious floods of Storm Gloria, which very seriously affected the entire Tordera basin.
The viewpoints at the mouth of the Tordera
As is well known, Storm Gloria strongly affected the entire Tordera river basin. But not only in a negative way (even today, works are being carried out to repair the damage), it also provided a great benefit to the river, such as the creation of the large coastal lagoon between Blanes and Malgrat de Mar, which was able to gain meters from the sea after many years. Thanks to this fact, the management of the space has changed, with access restrictions, a ban on swimming, and the creation of viewpoints to observe birds without interfering with their natural dynamics, among others.
Provisional signage in Santa Maria de Palautordera
As you know, after the Gloria storm in 2020, the footbridge that crossed the Tordera in Santa Maria de Palautordera disappeared, interrupting the path of the Tourdera. As a result of this unforeseen event, an alternative itinerary was provided, which you can follow perfectly, and which is perfectly signposted by the City Council of Santa Maria de Palautordera on a provisional basis.
Consolidation works on the slopes of the Tordera in Tordera
The consolidation work on the slopes of the Tordera River in the town of Tordera, which were severely affected by Storm Gloria, continues to advance. Currently, the most complex work, which was the consolidation of the slope with stone riprap, is already finished, and in the coming weeks, the second phase of the project will begin to return the space to its initial state.
