Information on the “Tordera and Arbúcies stream route” section between the town of Arbúcies and Montsoriu Castle is now available. As you know, the signage for the remaining sections of the route has recently been completed and we will continue uploading all the information to the website. With this new section, the entire route through the municipality of Arbúcies is now available, which is approximately 35 kilometers of total route, adding the exclusive variants for hikers and the itineraries for bicycles.

Information available for the section between Arbúcies and Sant Marçal
As reported last week, the route of the “Tordera and Arbúcies stream route” is now signposted along its entire length. However, the information available on the website will be updated over the coming weeks. Currently, of the new signposted sections, you can now download the information and tracks for the section between Arbúcies and Sant Marçal.
Completion of the works at La Tourdera
On June 28, all the adaptation and signage works for the sections of the Tordera and Arbúcies stream route in the municipalities of the Girona area were completed. Currently, you can enjoy the entire route, from the Font Bona in Sant Marçal to the mouth of the Tordera, both through Blanes and Malgrat, and descending along the Arbúcies stream or the main course of the Tordera.
Montseny – Costa Brava (MCB)
You may have already heard of the Montseny – Costa Brava (MCB), a non-competitive, charity-based resistance hike and cycle ride organized by AE Montseny, consisting of a descent, on foot or by bicycle, from the source of the Tordera (Coll de Sant Marçal) to the mouth. Furthermore, it is a charitable initiative to help create the SJD Pediatric Cancer Center in Barcelona, the largest pediatric oncology center in Europe. Are you in?
Pedaling with the VadeBici group
On November 4th, a bike ride along the Tourdera took place, from the Massanes train station to the mouth of the Tordera (Malgrat de Mar), organized by the VadeBici Cycling Group. The outing, which was attended by 60 people, was a complete success and very enjoyable.
Semiannual monitoring meeting
On Friday, October 19th, the six-monthly monitoring meeting for the “Tordera and Arbúcies stream route (Tourdera)” took place at the Vallgorguina Town Hall, with representatives from the different municipalities participating in the project. During the meeting, where the actions carried out over the last few months were reviewed, the program of activities planned for next year, 2019, was presented and discussed.
New Tourdera details by sections
This September, we have published information sheets on our website for each of the active sections of the route, so that Tourdera users can print them out and have handy information while they are on the route. These are small-format sheets, featuring photographs, technical information, and a small map, which will serve as support and which you can find on the page for each section.

Yesterday, Tuesday, June 12th, the official inauguration of the first sections of the Tordera route took place, culminating a first phase of the project in which 11 municipalities have already completed all the signage and paving improvement actions, reaching 114 kilometers of fully practicable itinerary.
Current status of the Tourdera
As many of you know, we have come a long way to get to where we are with the “Tordera and Arbúcies stream Route”. From the moment the idea was born to create a tourism product for hiking and cycle tourism tracing these two river courses to the current state of the project, many actions have already been executed and we are over 50% through the project.
