Gualba
The Information Point of Can Figueres (Gualba)
Do you know Mas Can Figueres in Gualba? It is surely the most iconic farmhouse in Gualba, located very close to the town center and under municipal ownership since the beginning of the 2000s. It currently functions as an Information Point and Center for Interpretation and Exhibition, so we recommend all Tourdera users to visit it; it’s worth it!
Presentation of the Tourdera at the Can Figueres de Gualba farmhouse
Montseny, a natural space with high biodiversity
The Montseny is a protected natural space that represents an important source of biodiversity for our country. In this massif, you will find everything represented from Mediterranean lowland ecosystems to subalpine environments of the highest peaks, passing through humid mid-mountain forests. And if you do the Tourdera in its sections through the Montseny, you will easily see it, passing from Mediterranean holm oak forests on the sunny slopes to beech forests in the cooler and wetter areas.
La Tourdera connecting sections (part 1): the case of Gualba
As you know, the Tordera Route and Arbúcies stream (Tourdera) is an itinerary that follows the course of the Tordera River and the Arbúcies stream in practically its entirety, but there are also some links to the route from towns near the river, such as Gualba, Massanes, Breda or Vallgorguina. In this article, we present the case of Gualba.
Actions to improve signage in Gualba
This week, maintenance work has been carried out on the route signage in the municipality of Gualba, as well as some expansion of the existing signage to improve the route following experience for users. The Tourdera section in Gualba allows users to deviate from the main route to discover this small municipality located at the foot of the Montseny, enjoying a pleasant and quiet walk along the old royal road.
Second active section of the Tordera Route!
Although we announced that it would not be until autumn, we have the good news to communicate that the Gualba Town Council has already been able to carry out the actions to make its section of the Tordera Route a reality. Specifically, this is the Gualba connecting itinerary, which allows you to go from the town of Gualba to the main route layout, in La Batllòria or Gualba de Baix.
Performances of the ACA in Tordera
Last January, the Generalitat de Catalunya reported on the various actions carried out by the Agència Catalana de l’Aigua (ACA) on the banks of the Tordera in the municipalities of Sant Celoni and Gualba, along the route of the Tordera Route through these municipalities.
