On June 28, all the adaptation and signage works for the sections of the Tordera and Arbúcies stream route in the municipalities of the Girona area were completed. Currently, you can enjoy the entire route, from the Font Bona in Sant Marçal to the mouth of the Tordera, both through Blanes and Malgrat, and descending along the Arbúcies stream or the main course of the Tordera.
Tourdera
Montseny – Costa Brava (MCB)
You may have already heard of the Montseny – Costa Brava (MCB), a non-competitive, charity-based resistance hike and cycle ride organized by AE Montseny, consisting of a descent, on foot or by bicycle, from the source of the Tordera (Coll de Sant Marçal) to the mouth. Furthermore, it is a charitable initiative to help create the SJD Pediatric Cancer Center in Barcelona, the largest pediatric oncology center in Europe. Are you in?
Pedaling with the VadeBici group
On November 4th, a bike ride along the Tourdera took place, from the Massanes train station to the mouth of the Tordera (Malgrat de Mar), organized by the VadeBici Cycling Group. The outing, which was attended by 60 people, was a complete success and very enjoyable.
New Tourdera details by sections
This September, we have published information sheets on our website for each of the active sections of the route, so that Tourdera users can print them out and have handy information while they are on the route. These are small-format sheets, featuring photographs, technical information, and a small map, which will serve as support and which you can find on the page for each section.
Popular inauguration event for the Tourdera
Inauguration of the active sections of the Tourdera
Yesterday, Tuesday, June 12th, the official inauguration of the first sections of the Tordera route took place, culminating a first phase of the project in which 11 municipalities have already completed all the signage and paving improvement actions, reaching 114 kilometers of fully practicable itinerary.
Current status of the Tourdera
As many of you know, we have come a long way to get to where we are with the “Tordera and Arbúcies stream Route”. From the moment the idea was born to create a tourism product for hiking and cycle tourism tracing these two river courses to the current state of the project, many actions have already been executed and we are over 50% through the project.
La Tourdera at the Tordera Palm Sunday Fair
Last March 23-25, during the celebration of the Fira Mercat del Ram in Tordera, Tourdera was present at one of the fair’s stands, with the participation of the different municipalities that have active sections of the route. Despite the rain over the weekend, both Friday and Sunday we were able to offer information to visitors.
Palau is also activating its sections of the Tourdera.
Continuing with the municipalities that these days have already completed the tasks to make the Tordera route a reality in their municipalities, the Santa Maria de Palautordera town council has also activated the sections that, from the municipality, allow connecting with Sant Celoni and Sant Esteve.
Sant Celoni already has its sections of the Tourdera
The Tordera route in the municipality of Sant Celoni is now fully completed in all its sections! From the center of Sant Celoni, you can take three sections and head towards La Batllòria, Vallgorguina, or Santa Maria de Palautordera, while enjoying a pleasant walk or bike ride.
